Does Your STACO Emergency Lighting Inverter Need to be Replaced?

Adhering to NFPA 70 standards through scheduled maintenance and repair ensures the longevity of your Staco lighting inverters. In many cases, replacing the inverter's battery suffices for full operation, requiring identical replacements in terms of number, type, ampere-hour, and voltage. However, additional devices may necessitate the replacement of the entire inverter to meet the 90-minute emergency backup power requirement. Determining the new total power load and matching it to the appropriate lighting inverter size is crucial in such instances.

Central Lighting Inverter as Backup Power

Central lighting inverters offer diverse backup power solutions tailored to your devices, supplying backup power to all emergency lighting systems across the building. These centralized units deliver single-phase power for simple devices like appliances and three-phase power for more power-intensive equipment. The central lighting inverter operates automatically in the event of a power outage.

Benefits of STACO Emergency Lighting Inverters

Staco lighting inverters offer a diverse range of options for various industries, available in different sizes and compatible with all lighting systems, including LEDs and HIDs. Centralizing your emergency lighting inverters streamlines maintenance and repair services, as workers only need to focus on one system rather than checking and changing batteries for each individual emergency lighting device.

Specifications of STACO Lighting Inverters

STACO's lighting inverters are UL924 approved, with single-phase units ranging from 350W to 21kW and three-phase products from 9kW to 225kW.

The Single Phase Lighting Inverter (UniStar SCLI 924) ensures continuous monitoring, reliable PWM technology, and Energy Star Rating for cost-effective light safety. It supports various applications with temperature-compensating technology, sealed maintenance-free batteries, and self-diagnostics, backed by a 10-year pro-rated battery warranty and a 5-year main transformer warranty.

STACO's Three Phase Lighting Inverters (P 924, PL 924, and PLT 924) prioritize personnel safety with high-performance design, delivering constant conditioned power, featuring an optional Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for coordinated circuit distribution, and providing enhanced security for illumination needs. The inverter technology offers extended brownout protection, tight voltage regulation, and power conditioning, maintaining 100% facility egress lumens and extending critical component life.

Electrical supplies for homes and businesses commonly use single-phase alternating current (AC). This alternating current works with most appliances, simple office equipment, lighting, and other devices. Yet for large companies with complex equipment and in many other countries, equipment relies on three-phase alternating current. There are some key differences, advantages, and disadvantages when comparing single-phase vs three-phase power. Understanding these differences will allow you to select the right one for your company.

A lighting inverter system is made up of it’s power conditioning component, inverter components, charging, and the backup runtime component which are batteries. The UL 924 compliance code requires that 90 minutes of battery minimum are provided to all exit sign routes. This 90 minute runtime can only pass it’s minimum test by having well charged, healthy batteries.
