Does Your DSPM Lighting Inverter Need to be Replaced?

Adhering to NFPA 70 standards during scheduled maintenance and repairs is essential to ensure the prolonged lifespan of your DSPM lighting inverters. Typically, the lighting inverter's battery may only necessitate replacement to restore it to optimal functionality. It is crucial that the replacement batteries precisely match the number, type, ampere-hour, and voltage specifications of the original batteries.

There are instances, however, where replacement of the DSPM lighting inverters becomes necessary. This situation may arise if additional emergency lighting, signage, or other devices are added to the existing system, potentially rendering the current lighting inverter insufficient to provide the required 90 minutes or more of emergency backup power. It becomes imperative to calculate the new total power load of all connected devices and match these updated load requirements to the appropriate size of the lighting inverter.

Central Lighting Inverter as Backup Power

Central lighting inverters offer diverse backup power solutions tailored to your specific devices. These centralized units supply backup power to all emergency lighting systems across the entire building. The systems are designed with flexibility, ranging from single-phase power for basic devices like appliances to three-phase power for more energy-intensive, power-hungry equipment. The central lighting inverter seamlessly operates in automatic mode, activating whenever there is a power outage.

Benefits of DSPM Lighting Inverters

DSPM lighting inverters boast a broad market range, offering a variety of inverters tailored to diverse industries. Available in a range of sizes, they are universally compatible with all lighting systems, including LEDs and HIDs. By centralizing your emergency lighting inverters, maintenance and repair processes become more efficient, streamlining the workload for workers who only need to focus on a single system rather than checking and replacing batteries for each individual emergency lighting device.

Specifications of DSPM Lighting Inverters

DSPM provides a range of lighting inverter products tailored for both harsh environments and standard commercial applications. The Eternalight Harsh Model spans from 3kW to 125kW, offering solutions for installations with suspect voltage. The Eternalight Micro, Mini, and Plus lines cover sizes from 350 watts to 21kW, addressing contemporary lighting inverter needs. Single-phase DSPM lighting inverters range from 75W to 21kW, while three-phase products span 3kW to 125kW.

DSPM Lighting Inverters are UL924 approved, ensuring dependable full-output emergency lighting for diverse commercial applications. These inverters hold crucial certifications (UL 924, UL1778, NFPA 101, NFPA 70, UL508) and provide robust surge/sag protection through DSP/PWM technology. The system features self-diagnostic capabilities, LED monitoring, and automated tests for proactive issue detection, backed by a 1-year full warranty, 10-year prorated battery warranty, 5-year powertrain warranty, and maintenance contracts. The 90-minute lighting inverter system incorporates sealed, maintenance-free AGM batteries with temperature-compensated monitoring for optimal runtime and battery lifespan.

Electrical supplies for homes and businesses commonly use single-phase alternating current (AC). This alternating current works with most appliances, simple office equipment, lighting, and other devices. Yet for large companies with complex equipment and in many other countries, equipment relies on three-phase alternating current. There are some key differences, advantages, and disadvantages when comparing single-phase vs three-phase power. Understanding these differences will allow you to select the right one for your company.

A lighting inverter system is made up of it’s power conditioning component, inverter components, charging, and the backup runtime component which are batteries. The UL 924 compliance code requires that 90 minutes of battery minimum are provided to all exit sign routes. This 90 minute runtime can only pass it’s minimum test by having well charged, healthy batteries.
